Event Description

New Beginnings Christian Church and the Georgia BBQ association is holding a cook off and car show on August 19th and August 20th 2011 @ the Griffin Kiwannis Fair Ground. Located on South Hill St between the Ga Nation Guard Armory and The Griffin Airport. There will be 30 plus professional BBQ cooks from all over Ga. come to town for our Cook off and let everyone sample their BBQ. There will als...o be a Backyard Division so bring it on and let's see what ya got. Backyard division will be bbq Chicken and ribs each with it's own prize. the pros are cooking pulled pork, ribs and pork loin so come on out and spend a great Friday evening and Saturday all day with us. Christian and Gospel music acts and vendors needed for Arts and Crafts and any and all community organizations are welcome to get a site as well.
Major fundraiser to build our very own church on Teamon Rd Griffin Ga.
Awards
Grand Champion prize in the Pro division will be $1000.00. Peoples Choice will be $750.00 each for ribs and pulled pork with a minimum of 30 teams, less teams will be a 50/50 split. Back yard will be a 50/50 split of all entry fees in the division. !st place in each division will pay $350.00 2nd Place in each division will pay $250.00 and 3rd Place in each division will pay $150.00.
