Actually Wikipedia has quite a lot to say about the "Wienermobile" which originally appeared in 1936! It has had a number of incarnations with eight now being driven around the US by paid college students called "hotdoggers"! The hot dog himself is named "Little Oscar". Below is one is from 1952:
