Event Description

The Lowcountry Model “A” Ford Club of Charleston, South Carolina is excited to extend a warm invitation to everyone in your club to join us for a weekend of fun in South Carolina. March 8-10, 2012 will mark our third time
hosting this exciting event. The Hilton Garden Inn, located in Florence, South Carolina will be home base for this
three day gathering which will include you taking laps in your Model “A” on the historic Darlington Speedway, and
a complete tour of the raceway museum nearby. Other events are as listed. Florence, SC is adjacent to Darlington
and is easily reached, being situated at the junction of Interstates 95 and 20 in northeast South Carolina.

What To Expect

Thursday, March 8
• registration - main ballroom
• welcome hamburger/hotdog cookout, 6 p.m.
Friday, March 9
• registration - main ballroom
• swap meet/vendors
• dinner on your own
• bingo (optional), 8-10 p.m.
Saturday, March 10
• swap meet/vendors
• laps on the raceway in your Model A, midday
• NASCAR/Darlington Raceway Museum
• *Civil War Reinactment at the “Columns”
• dinner banquet with live entertainment
• 50-50 tickets
Throughout the weekend
• manned repair tent on site
• swap meet/vendors
• shopping at local mall (free transportation)

This will be an optional trip of interest, not sponsored by the Lowcountry
A’s. The Columns is a popular name for The Harwell
House at Rankin Plantation, a beautiful antebellum
home that dates back over 100 years. The house
was placed on the National Register of historic places in 1974 and is a drive of approximately 20 minutes
from the host hotel.
The Skirmish At Gamble’s Hotel is a Civil War reinactment presented on the Columns property by the
The 23rd SC Infantry - a group of Civil War reinactorsand and will take place @ 11 a.m. Saturday and
Sunday.
