Event Description

DUNWOODY SOAP BOX DERBY

June 2, 2012
8:30 AM OPENING CEREMONY - 9:00 AM RACES BEGIN
Dunwoody Soap Box Derby

2012 marks the fifth year of the Dunwoody-NE Georgia Soap Box Derby -- and our fourth as a fully sanctioned head-to-head competition.

Since 2008, when we began this racing tradition as a fun, non-sanctioned test of car and driver, the number of cars and drivers has grown each year -- and this year we are expecting our largest groups of drivers ever.

In addition to racing Stock and Super Stock cars, we have a Super Kids Race for children with disabilities, with winners in each category going on to race in Akron, OH in July at the 75th Annual All-American Soap box Derby World Championships.

The event is presented by Dunwoody NE GA Soap Box Derby Association.

Over the past decade, values for Brass Era automobiles (1896–1915) have followed a familiar but revealing pattern. The late 2010s saw steady appreciation as collectors sought early, historically significant cars with craftsmanship that…
