Come out to Georgia's Only Hot Rod Parade and Drive In Movie for classic cars!!
The event will start with a parade of classic cars and hot rods from the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter located at 884 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville. The parade will line up at 4:30pm and will then be escorted through downtown historic Lawrenceville, Georgia by the one and only Lawrenceville Police. The parade will travel to the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds and at 5:30pm the car show begins!!
Come out to enjoy hot rods and classic cars from all generations, including The Year One Burt Reynolds Edition Trans Am and The Rambling Wreck From Georgia Tech!! Also come out to see the multiple agency police vehicle exhibit, numerous vendors and food trucks!!
The party concludes with a one of a kind event!! Relive the glory days of hot rods and drive in movies as we present American Graffiti on the big screen!! Sit in your classic car just like you did back in the 60's and take in a drive in move!! This event will be complete with car hops and refreshments during the movie!!
But wait, there's more!! Have a little hot rodder in your family? We will also be hosting a drive in for the little motorhead in your life. Kids are encouraged to decorate a large box of their own drive in movie!! As the kids sit in their "cars" they will be watching Bolt on their own big screen at the same time as the big kids watch American Graffiti!!
Prizes will be awarded across many categories and the little tykes will also get an award for the best "car" in show!!
Registration is the day of the event. Registration fees are a donation to the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter and no minimum fee is required.
This event is brought to you by The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter, The Gwinnett County Police Department, The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, The City of Lawrenceville Police Department and Gwinnett Cops for A Cure. With sponsorships from Year One, ProcareRX and Sparkles Skating Rink!!
