Event Description

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to inclement weather the Branden Penegar Memorial Car Show has been postponed and rescheduled for our rain date of March 31, 2018. Please mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you then.

Gonzalez United Methodist is proud to present our 5th annual GUMC Youth/Branden Penegar Memorial Car Show, a tribute to a wonderful young man who left us much too soon. Branden Penegar was a very active member of the GUMC Youth group who was called Home to Heaven on March 9, 2013, a couple months shy of his 21st birthday. He became a friend to everyone he met and his constant smile was contagious. Branden could make any day seem better just by being in the same room with him. He loved God, his family, friends, Tate High School football, Florida State Seminoles, NASCAR and the GUMC Youth group. Although Branden had “graduated out” of youth in 2011, he stayed active in the by serving as a mentor, friend and chaperone at youth activities. The Youth want to show their continued love for Branden by including his name on this car show which has now grown to be one of the larger car shows in the Pensacola area. He will forever live in our hearts.
We welcome any make, model, or year car. We will have live music! Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. All proceeds from our annual car show benefit the GUMC Youth Group.

1958 Porsche 356 Speedster

The 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster marks the swan song of one of Porsche’s most iconic and minimalist models. Originally introduced in 1954 at the urging of U.S. importer Max Hoffman, the Speedster was designed to be a low cost, lightweight, stripped-down entry sports car that could double as a weekend racer, especially for the California sports car scene. With its low windshield,…

1948 Rover P3 Saloon

The 1948 Rover P3 Saloon marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of British motoring. Introduced in the immediate aftermath of World War II, the P3 was a bridge between prewar craftsmanship and the modern engineering ethos that would come to define Rover’s future. Although its styling retained many traditional elements, including an upright grille, separate fenders, and rear-hinged front…
