GSRA is an open association!

The GSRA is one of the oldest street rod associations in the USA, having been formed in 1976. The GSRA promotes the car hobby in general and is open to all walks of life. All you need is a healthy interest in automobiles. You don't have to even own a car!! Spouses and significant others are welcome at our all our events. In fact many spouses run the 50/50 drawings and participate in the swap meet. Without spousal support the GSRA would not run as smoothly.

A couple things that make us different...we do not have a cut off date for our events, like some rod associations. Our members have all sorts of automobiles - stocks, rods, trucks, motorcycles, and customs. All are welcome to come check us out.

I received this message from Jason Smith and I am posting it here to see if GSRA members can help him at all. I have some specific suggestions here in NE GA, but they are too far away from him to be practical.  He has been invited to join us here, too.

Thanks much,

Mike

Hi Michael,

First let me start by saying I love your site. It has a great list of car shows and I've been to more than a few since I moved to Atlanta 3 years ago.  One day I'll have my car in shape to participate rather than view.   I have a question.  I'm looking for a body shop to fix my truck that was in an accident.  I have most, if not all of the parts, just need a reasonable place that does great work.  I'm looking for a place that is less like a Maaco and more of a custom shop.  My truck would be a sort of test run, for their quality, price, etc. Even though no custom work would be done to it.  It's pretty much a spray and replace deal.  The real deal is...I can't trust just anyone with my other cars, and since I'm still relatively new to the Atlanta area, I just don't know where to go.  So taking my truck to a place and seeing how well it goes should be a decent test, I can't find a good place to post this question on the website.  The forum area seems like the right place, but looks like it is not organized.     Do you know of any places in the Vinings/Smyrna/Marietta area?  Or can you tell me where to post my question to get a decent amount of views?

Thanks in advance,

Jason Smith"

1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL

Introduced in late 1966 for a short, single-year production run, the 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL holds a special place in the “Pagoda” lineage (W113 series) as the rarest variant, with only about 5,196 units built. Positioned between the earlier 230SL and the later 280SL, the 250SL…

A Bite of History: by Mike Thies

1958 Porsche 356 Speedster

The 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster marks the swan song of one of Porsche’s most iconic and minimalist models. Originally introduced in 1954 at the urging of U.S. importer Max Hoffman, the Speedster was designed to be a low cost, lightweight, stripped-down entry sports car that could double as a weekend racer, especially for the California sports car scene. With its low windshield,…

The 1948 Rover P3 Saloon marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of British motoring. Introduced in the immediate aftermath of World War II, the P3 was a bridge between prewar craftsmanship and the modern engineering ethos that would come to define Rover’s future.
