This year www.southeastwheelsevetns.com is sponsoring a unique project and I think most of you will enjoy a glimpse of the man with the brains behind it. Bob Sarda is working on a project to be the fasted man on steam powered wheels in a 1972 Honda!  Check out his Blog!  It is real good reading! http://southeastwheelsevents.com/profiles/blogs/bonneville-salt-fla...

PS Bob is a modest sort, in spite of his ambition. He will tell you he is not a graduate engineer, but a graduate Soap Box Derby kid! :-)

That is a great idea. It has been awhile since we have had some planning since everyone is so busy. As the season winds down, let's get together & do something really different.

Little red, Miquel and I had fun today at the filming. Boy, are those guys organized! The car was in one scene but I am not sure they were filming, it was like a practice thing. We go back on Wednesday when I am told he will actually get filmed. I will post more as we go through it!

Abby from NOS said she would come with some samples! I plan to meet her there at about 8:30pm! She is a great "gear head" and a good SEWE Friend. I will confirm with her as we get closer to Thursday. Mike T.

The Boxster won a Top Ten Trophy Sunday at the Autozone show in Gainesville. I only entered to be part of it and actually I am self conscious about it because there were MUCH better cars there that were overlooked. Scotty's Prowler won and several others from the TWs won, as well. I tried to give the Trophy to Alan, Larry or Miguel who have much finer wheels, but they said no. I will accept it in the name of the TWs! It is better to win when you feel you have earned it.

Hey PEs! Thanks so much for the time tonight, I had fun. The Stuart Little car was hit! I think the group there at the old Publix is cool! What is the street address there. Little Red made it home, but not until he stalled again and wouldn't start. I filled up the gas tank because it acts like its not getting gas or something. I will work on it again tomorrow. I am slow because I am an amateur mechanic :-)

PS Thanks for the help getting the word out about the website. It will be great to get the whole parking lot signed up!

A Bite of History: by Mike Thies

1958 Porsche 356 Speedster

The 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster marks the swan song of one of Porsche’s most iconic and minimalist models. Originally introduced in 1954 at the urging of U.S. importer Max Hoffman, the Speedster was designed to be a low cost, lightweight, stripped-down entry sports car that could double as a weekend racer, especially for the California sports car scene. With its low windshield,…

1948 Rover P3 Saloon

The 1948 Rover P3 Saloon marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of British motoring. Introduced in the immediate aftermath of World War II, the P3 was a bridge between prewar craftsmanship and the modern engineering ethos that would come to define Rover’s future. Although its styling retained many traditional elements, including an upright grille, separate fenders, and rear-hinged front…

The Volunteer Gap: Thoughts on Why Car Clubs Are Struggling to Fill Leadership Roles, and What to Do About It

With car shows, cruise-ins, tours, parades and varied events across the country, car clubs continue to bring enthusiasts together for camaraderie, preservation, and celebration of automotive history. But behind the scenes, many of these clubs are hitting a serious speed bump: no one wants to take the wheel. Volunteer-run clubs are facing an increasingly common…

Why It’s Hard to Recruit Younger Members to Volunteer Car Clubs, and How to Fix It

Car clubs have long been the social engine of the collector car world, bringing people together to swap parts, plan road trips, attend shows, and preserve automotive history. But in recent years, many volunteer-run car clubs have struggled with a pressing problem: recruiting and retaining younger members. The concern isn’t just about numbers, it’s about sustainability. As the…
