Event Description

The Alston Wilkes Society announces the 5th Annual Veterans Car & Bike Show to be held on September 19th at Thunder Tower; located at 190 Pontiac Business Center Drive in Elgin, S.C. All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Homeless Veteran Program at the Alston Wilkes Society. The Alston Wilkes Society Veterans Home is a valuable project that was a first in South Carolina. Since opening its doors in 1996, it has provided veterans in South Carolina a stable alternative to homelessness. Beyond providing the essentials of food and shelter, the facility and its staff help to reaffirm veterans’ self-worth and give them a chance to contribute to the community and society overall. With the increased concern over the growing population of homeless veterans in our communities, this event will serve as a great opportunity to raise awareness to this important issue.
