Event Description

Auctions America kicks off its 2016 calendar, April 1-3, with its 14th annual Fort Lauderdale collector car auction held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. Led by local South Florida classic car veteran, Donnie Gould, the 2016 event follows Auctions America’s most successful performance at the venue to date in 2015, an event that generated more than $21.3 million in sales.

Regarded as South Florida’s premier collector car auction, the April sale will see nearly 500 quality vehicles cross the auction stage. The offering spans all segments of the market, from American classics to European sports cars, Detroit muscle, hot rods and customs, offering something for all automotive tastes and budgets.

The 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster marks the swan song of one of Porsche’s most iconic and minimalist models. Originally introduced in 1954 at the urging of U.S. importer Max Hoffman, the Speedster was designed to be a low cost, lightweight, stripped-down entry sports car that could double as a weekend racer, especially for the California sports car scene.
