FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hooked on Driving Mid-Atlantic Hosts HPDE Weekend at Road Atlanta – Adds Charity
Parade Laps to Support Car PR Veteran and Parkinson’s Warrior Kevin Smith
August 9–10, 2025 | Road Atlanta | Braselton, GA
Braselton, GA — Hooked on Driving Mid-Atlantic returns to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
for a full weekend of high-performance driving excitement on August 9–10, 2025. In addition to
the core High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) event, HOD Mid-Atlantic is proud to
partner with Drive Toward a Cure and Racing for Parkinson’s to host a special charity
parade lap session to support Parkinson’s disease while helping a valued member of the
motorsports community.
On Sunday, August 10, from 10:40 AM to 11:00 AM, drivers will have the opportunity to take
part in Charity Parade Laps — a 20-minute paced session around the legendary Road
Atlanta circuit. For a $25 donation, participants can drive their own car on track and
experience the thrill of this world-class course — all while supporting Kevin Smith, a longtime
automotive PR professional and Atlanta resident currently living with Young Onset
Parkinson’s Disease.
All proceeds from the parade laps will go directly toward helping Kevin manage critical care
needs, including transportation to neurological appointments, support services, and daily living
assistance. Kevin is a respected figure in the automotive industry, having represented global
brands such as SAAB, Cadillac, Lotus, and Genesis — and is known professionally worldwide
for his kind spirit and lifelong passion for cars.

Triumph TR8
The Triumph TR8, introduced in 1978, was often called the “English Corvette.” It was essentially a Triumph TR7 fitted with a Rover 3.5-liter aluminum V8, a powerplant with American Buick origins that had been adopted by British Leyland in the 1960s. With around 135 to 150 horsepower in…

1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL
Introduced in late 1966 for a short, single-year production run, the 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL holds a special place in the “Pagoda” lineage (W113 series) as the rarest variant, with only about 5,196 units built. Positioned between the earlier 230SL and the later 280SL, the 250SL…
