Family of driver killed by concrete block increases reward

The family of a driver killed when a concrete block hit his windshield has increased the reward in the case to $10,000.
Joe Crockett Shelton Jr. died in the crash in November. He was driving on I-24E when a 23-pound piece of concrete hit his windshield.
Police say they still have not definitively determined how the chunk of concrete fell. While it is possible the concrete chunk was thrown from the Shelby Avenue Bridge, the police department has not identified anyone to this point who saw that happen.
Shelton Jr.'s family offered the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in adult court of the person or persons responsible for his death if the concrete chunk that went through his windshield was part of a criminal act.
Anyone with information was asked to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Crime Stoppers is also offering an additional reward of up to $1,000.
