Charlotte, NC: Sprint racing fans in the South East will want to circle Saturday September 15th on their calendar as the Charlotte Sprint Series is currently busy preparing for the inaugural running of the Carolina Fall Sprint Shootout. Hosting the event will be the East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley, NC, minutes West of Charlotte. The facility has played host to the series in its inaugural season.
Heat race action will set the field for the King of Carolina Shootout, which will see qualifiers go head to head in a 2-lap dual to determine the starting lineup for the 25 lap feature event which will cap off the night’s Championship event. “We wanted to do something special to say thanks to the fans who have been so supportive of us in our first season,” commented series technical director Shawn Mott. “We also want to thank Keith and the entire crew at East Lincoln who have been so instrumental in getting things started. Keith (Frye) and Ray Evernham got things rolling on this deal and it has already far surpassed everyone’s expectations and we want to keep the momentum going! This is going to be a great way to start what we hope will become annual event .” A full night of racing is on tap for the event also featuring the micro-sprints and open wheeled modifies.
For more information concerning the race itself, we encourage you to visit the track’s website at www.elspeedway.com.
