Steam Car Challenge

Steam Car ChallengeThe current land speed record is held by the British in 2009 when they beat the World Record set in 1906 set by American Fred Marriott.  We are going to take it back on the Salt Flats in 2012!  The idea came to Bob Sarda of Cumming, GA and has built the engine and putting it a Honda!  The record is around 150 miles and hour!

His design is to fire the boiler with hydrogen!  The Brits spent millions and we can do it for under $100,000!

The Challenge

Take a standard automobile, install an off-the-shelf steam engine powered by a 1200 psi steam boiler heated by a hydrogen gas open flame burner and crush the 150 mph record.

The Car
