Have you ever wanted to recreate a picture of a past car you owned? With Photoshop and some effort it can be done. When I was eighteen I bought a stock 1955 Ford Customline, but it didn’t stay that way for long. Very shortly it had a four barrel carb installed on the 272 V8, a floor shifter for the three speed overdrive, dual exhaust and coils cut for a 60s style dropped front. Sadly I didn’t keep any pictures of the car but by using Photoshop I was able to recreate the 55 and the memories…

A Bite of History - Marcos
By Mike Thies
The Marcos was one of those wonderfully unconventional British sports car companies that could only have come from the postwar racing world. The company was founded in 1959 by Jem Marsh and aerodynamicist Frank Costin, with the name Marcos coming from Marsh and Costin. Costin brought serious aircraft and racing design experience to the project, and that influence showed up immediately in the cars: low frontal area, light weight,…

A Judge’s View from Pinehurst: Sandhills Motoring Expo 2026 by Mike Thies
The 2026 Sandhills Motoring Expo Concours in the Village was one of those days that reminds you why we do this. Held Sunday, May 24, in the historic Village of Pinehurst, the event brought together more than 130 judged automobiles representing over 40 manufacturers, and from this judge’s point of view, it was a first-class field, a well-run operation, and a genuinely enjoyable day with owners who were proud to…

Welcome to our website, I am so pleased to have you here! First, I want to thank you for posting the Donut Derelicts cruise ins. We are pleased to help bring a broader awareness about this event. There are so many things we can do to increase attention to your project. We already have a good sized group planning to attend. Please get as many friends and participants as possible to RSVP on your event page (it now has its own URL) as this helps us in increasing rankings on Facebook and major search engines for it. Include the URL in your correspondence and Facebook entries. Also, please announce our site at the event itself and have your happy participants post photos and stories, this helps promote your next event, as well.
I am looking forward to some great photos (and maybe videos) of your Pantera, as well as the various other vehicles you favor, and events you enjoy, too. We want as many photos as we can get. We can upload 100 at a time! (You may have heard that we are collecting One Million photos of bikes, cars & trucks! Please announce this at your cycle event as we want to get the word out!) It is good to write about your "wheels" adventures on the blog, as we all enjoy stories from our members.
As you can see, one of the real strengths of our website is the feature that any member can add events whenever they find one that we have overlooked! You do not have to "submit" through emails or the postal service, etc.
Please invite your family and friends as this helps the to get the word our and improves your social network communications. If I can help at all with any of your projects, call me at 770-883-0160. I will see you at the meet on Dec. 4, if all goes according to plan.
Sincerely,
Mike Thies
