Dear Mike,
The TRC stands for Triumph Roadster Club, which is the internal organization of all 1946 to 1949 Triumph 1800 and 2000 Roadster. There were 4501 Roadsters built and less than 1000 have survived. We have about 530 in the club, which is located in England, where the most of the cars are. In the USA we have 23 Roadsters in running conditions and some more in various states of needing work.
Once a year in June the TRC has their big meeting in England with the usual concourse and awards for longest distance driven, etc. The most prestigious award is the "Car Of The Year Award", which is given to the car with the most performance on drives, shows and media. Sir Callaby was the first car ever to win the award outside of England. When they sent me the large silver bowl, they commented that this would hopefully not become another yachting cup story, referring to the America's Cup, which was taken from England to the States and stayed here for 136 years. After receiving the cup, I bolted it to the table and pledged to replace it with my head in case I ever would lose it (in line to the famous statement of the New York Yacht Club). I am very determined to win it again this year. You will see me around to collect points for the competition.
Thanks for helping
Hermann (the German) Schaller
