Tell us about your wheels!
My ride is something I’ve put a lot of personal time and attention into, and it’s definitely more than just transportation to me. I enjoy keeping it clean, making thoughtful upgrades, and paying attention to the little details that make it stand out while still keeping its character. I’m always interested in seeing how other owners build and personalize their cars too.
What attracts you to wheel events?
For me, it’s the combination of the cars and the people. I enjoy seeing different builds in person, talking with owners about the work that went into them, and picking up ideas for my own ride. There’s something different about seeing a car at an event compared with seeing pictures online. I also like the relaxed atmosphere and the chance to meet people who are just as enthusiastic about cars and the culture around them.
What are your other interests?
Traveling, Sport

I should say up front that I am not an expert on every car, and I am not the final word on any one marque. There are people who know every casting number on a 1969 Hemi Road Runner , and I am happy to call them when I need to.…

A Bite of History - 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback by Mike Thies

A Bite of History - 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

Ford already had a runaway hit when the Mustang debuted at the New York World’s Fair on April 17, 1964. Initially offered as a hardtop and convertible, it combined sporty styling with a price everyday buyers could afford. Then came the Fastback in September 1964, bringing a sweeping roofline that gave the little Mustang a whole new attitude.  …
