When I was a kid, one of the things we did in my neighborhood was hang at the corner. The Corner was always a hub or activity, keeping up with the who's who, what's going on with various neighborhood news and opinion.  Welcome to Lee's corner where I will do my best to keep you, the members, informed and up to date on various events and happenings in the car show neighborhood .I got to give a shout out to this week's sponsor, my buddy Doc Sab and Cadillac World, Home of Mac Daddy Wire Wheels that are Hand Made using American Steel, TBird Chrysler and Packard models available...

Last Thursday Night I had the chance to attend the Norcross Cruise In and I must say I AM IMPRESSED and I don't impress easily,   IT WAS INTENSE!!!  First thing it is at night, second thing there was in the neighborhood of 500 cars and the last thing that impressed me was the age.  Beside myself and my crew, I did not see (I think) anyone over 40 years old. There was great diversity, trucks, classic, foreign, hot rods and rat rods, lights and sounds galore.  If you could dream it, you could wish it, it was there.  I got to give a shout out to the organizers they did a great job, security, taking care of that many cars, the traffic control, that many kids, is no easy task.  BTW these kids are some of the nicest, politest bunch I have ever had the pleasure of taking photos of.  Either that or they just took pity on an old man.  It's every Thursday Night in Norcross.  I recommend going at least one time, to this Fountain of Youth and taking in the sights and sounds of our heirs of the car world, the younger generation...For photos, go to the South East Wheels Events http://southeastwheelsevents.com and under Albums click on the Thursday Night Norcross February 2, 2017 Album Cover.

If there is something that you would like to share about an event or opinion, come to Lee's Corner and post it.  We can't use everyone's but we will hit the highlights.

Have a wonderful week and if I may be of service, please let me know...<>/strong>

1958 Porsche 356 Speedster

The 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster marks the swan song of one of Porsche’s most iconic and minimalist models. Originally introduced in 1954 at the urging of U.S. importer Max Hoffman, the Speedster was designed to be a low cost, lightweight, stripped-down entry sports car that could double as a weekend racer, especially for the California sports car scene. With its low windshield,…

A Bite of History: by Mike Thies

1948 Rover P3 Saloon

The 1948 Rover P3 Saloon marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of British motoring. Introduced in the immediate aftermath of World War II, the P3 was a bridge between prewar craftsmanship and the modern engineering ethos that would come to define Rover’s future. Although its styling retained many traditional elements, including an upright grille, separate fenders, and rear-hinged front…

Why It’s Hard to Recruit Younger Members to Volunteer Car Clubs, and How to Fix It

Car clubs have long been the social engine of the collector car world, bringing people together to swap parts, plan road trips, attend shows, and preserve automotive history. But in recent years, many volunteer-run car clubs have struggled with a pressing problem: recruiting and retaining younger members. The concern isn’t just about numbers, it’s about sustainability. As the…
