Wow! NASCAR is adding a February (8 thru 10) weekend to their schedule this year called “NASCAR Preview 2013”. It offers fans a unique experience into NASCAR that they might not be able to get at the track each week. Fans will meet their favorite drivers, get autographs, take photos of team cars and see the Hot Rodders Of Tomorrow in the 2013 “NASCAR Preview Showdown”!
Hot Rodders is excited to part of NASCAR’s program as they come off a wonderful year with events around the country including the huge annual SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) show in Vegas! Hot Rodders Of Tomorrow is a competition for high school auto shops where teams of five students dismantle a functional Chevy 350 engine and reassemble it in timed and judged heats! The students win trophies and high value scholarships for colleges around the country.
The 2013 schedule starts with the “Showdown” invitational this week and culminates with the National Championship at the Performance Racing Industry show in December in Indianapolis! (See the whole events calendar: http://www.hotroddersoftomorrow.com/events.htm) Several dozens of schools around the country are expected to participate! See a YouTube video of the events at SEMA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cchUnPh4av4.
HROT is a completely volunteer organization from all around the US! The true leadership credit for the success of HROT needs to go to the team of James Bingham, who is on the Board of SEMA and Rodney Bingham of “Winners Circle” in Joliet, IL. Their efforts have brought HROT to the point where it is one of the most active and visual groups working to bring young people back into the automotive industry!
