Oakland was started in 1908 by Edward Murphy, owner of Pontiac Buggy Co., and engineer Alanson Brush ( worked for Cadillac ). Oakland merged with Durant's new company, General Motors. Here is a 6 cylinder example with the common, exposed valve train.
