The Carolinas Region and Peachstate Region have again been invited to participate in a joint show with the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Antique Wooden Boat Association. This note is to provide you with information about the Antique Boat Show & Porsche Show being planned for Saturday, April 13th. About 50 Porsches participated in last year's event and those in attendance voiced interest in particpating on a regular basis. The show will again be held at the Hartwell Marina in Hartwell, Georgia.
The Antique Wooden Boat Show has been an annual event since 1993. It is hosted by the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Antique Boat Association. Last year, we were contacted by Larry Torrence of the Lake Hartwell Marketing Alliance, requesting joint participation in the event by members of the Porsche Club Carolinas and Peachstate Regions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lake Hartwell. For your reference, the web site for the Hartwell Marina is included below.
www.hartwellmarina.comThe organizers are expecting 50 or more classic wooden boats to participate in this year's show. We are looking for about 45 Porsches to participate as well to add to the interest of the show. We have included some photos of last year's show to give you an idea of the types of boats and vehicles in attendance. Most boast are Chris Craft and Gar Wood models.
As for the Porsche part of the show, any and all Porsches are eligible. The plans for the event include the following:
In addition to the boats and cars on display, there will be food vendors, arts & crafts vendors, activities for children (build a boat, RC controlled boats, T-shirts, etc.) and a number of boat rides with their owners for PCA attendees.
This will be a joint Regional event between Carolinas and Peachstate.
All RSVPs for participants are due no later than April 3rd and should be sent to John Budinich atupstate-ad@carolinas-pca.com. We will need to limit participation to 45 vehicles but additional spectators are more than welcome to join us. Any questions you may have should be directed to John as well. All 45 show participants will receive a confirmation email with any last minute updates.

The 1948 Ford F-1 Pickup
The 1948 Ford F-1 wasn’t just a new truck, it was the start of something big. When Ford introduced it, they launched the very first F-Series, the truck line that would become America’s favorite for generations. This was the first Ford pickup built on a dedicated truck chassis rather than a car-based frame,…

The “Car Guy’s Garage”
Step inside a place like this and you can almost hear the echoes of every wrench turned and every engine fired back to life. The light hums off the old signs, Route 66, Coca-Cola, Phillips 66, and the smell is that unmistakable mix of oil, leather, and stories. This isn’t just a garage. It’s a…
