1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28

The 1970 Camaro marked the beginning of the second generation for Chevy’s popular pony car, and the Z/28 with the RS (Rally Sport) package was one of the most desirable configurations. With a more European-inspired design — longer, lower, and wider than its predecessor, the ’70 Camaro was a true performer with refined styling.

The Z/28 package gave you the LT1 350 cu in V8, pumping out 360 horsepower (gross), a high-revving, solid-lifter engine derived from Corvette DNA. Mated to a close-ratio 4-speed and optional Positraction rear, it was a serious track-ready machine.

The RS package added distinctive cosmetic upgrades: split chrome bumperettes, hidden headlights, revised front fascia, and unique badging. Combining both the RS and Z/28 packages meant you got serious muscle wrapped in a sharply styled package.

1970 was a one-year-only high point: emissions and insurance regulations would soon dull performance across the board. That makes the 1970 RS Z/28 especially coveted today, a perfect blend of looks, rarity, and raw power.
